The purpose of the Charter is to promote continual improvement in product sustainability in the entire soaps, detergent and maintenance products industry.
A.I.S.E. recognizes that distributors, retailers, importers and other organisations placing such products on the market, under their own name but not manufactured by them, share the same interest as manufacturers in promoting sustainability, and will have an important role in contributing to the success of the Charter.
Therefore the Charter scheme specifically offers such non-manufacturing organisations a simple route to participate, via the Associate Membership Agreement.
Associated members are allowed to use the Charter logo only for those products of manufacturers that are committed to the Charter.
Distributors wishing to use the Charter symbol will be asked to
1) comply with the conditions set out in the Charter distributors clarification note (see also summary presentation)
2) sign an Associate Membership Agreement (AMA) and a Licence Agreement granting the appropriate permissions and return those to A.I.S.E.
3) - in order to identify the products associated members are distributing - to fill out an annex and send it signed via mail to Deloitte, Mr. Wim Palmers, Berkenlaan 8c, 1831 Diegem, Belgium. The information will not be disclosed to A.I.S.E. nor any other third party. Only the products mentioned on this annex have the right to bear the logo.
